Q: How much will it cost?
A: There's no formula, "call for pricing", or tricks up our sleeve. Our Services page has a break down of our rates. Our prices are similar to a kennel and that's where the similarities end. We offer a money back guarantee if Gopher Dogs isn't the best pet care company you have ever used.
Q: What areas do you serve?
A: Currently, Gopher Dogs serves all of Mecklenburg County including Matthews/Mint Hill, Fort Mill, Weddington, Waxhaw and Marvin.
Q: Can I schedule services last minute?
A: Life happens. Sometimes you have to leave with short notice. We understand and can make sure that your pets are cared for. Best of all, there is no surcharge for emergency trips.
Q: Will I meet the personal assistant who is caring for my pet and will I have the same person every time?
A: Yes and Yes. The personal assistant that you meet during your initial free consult will be the assistant who will care for your dog. Emergencies happen and if a substitute is required, we will always ask for your permission. Should a permanent sitter switch happen, a second free consult will be scheduled so you can meet the new sitter so they can learn your dog's routine.
Q: How long is each visit, and how is the time spent?
A: Each visit lasts at least thirty minutes. How the time is spent is up to you. Activities include walking, back rubs, feeding, tug of war, or even letting them chase us around the house. We like to keep their routine as close as possible to the one that they know.
Q: If there is a problem, who can I call?
A: You will be given your assigned personal assistant's cell phone number at your free consult. You can call us with questions, issues, concerns, or simply to check up on your dogs (and cats). You can also text message us. If you can't get in touch with them, or if you need (or want) to speak to the owner, call him. His name is Matt, he's super nice, and his direct line is 704.778.7745.
Q: Is it safe to let strangers in to my house?
A: We don't think so. That's why we never take on any new clients without a free in home consult. All of our personal assistants are bonded and insured, and we are always happy to provide references.
Q: What if I come home early or my flight gets delayed?
A: Let us know and the rest will be handled by us. This happens all the time, especially with Charlotte's wacky weather!
Q: Do you board dogs?
A: Nope. We will only watch them at your house. This keeps them in a familiar environment, and prevents you from digging around the house trying to find those pesky shot records (we don't require them).
Q: When is payment due?
A: If you are using Visa, Master Card, Discover or Amex (we know you love your points) an automatic deduction will be made on the first day of service. If you still know where your checkbook is or if you carry cash around, you can leave that for your assistant on the first day of service.
